Best Wearable Tech, Smartwatches And Fitness Trackers 2017

As technology becomes smaller, smarter and integrated into everything, wearing it has become a social standard. Whether it’s smartwatches, fitness trackers or even apparel, the tech you can wear to keep tabs on your fitness levels is more popular than ever. But with so many fitness gadgets on the market, it’s hard to separate the good from the not-so-good.
A pick of the best smartwatches, activity trackers, and fitness devices

If you don’t trust strapping expensive wearables to yourself before plunging head first into fitness - where there’s a risk you could lose them, never to be seen again – there’s always the option of “invisible” wearable tech. Take the  Under Armour Gemini 3 RE smart shoes, for instance. The sports apparel company has integrated a fitness tracker right into the soles of the shoes, so you don’t need to adorn a smartwatch to record your fitness data. Being the most intelligent trainers you’ll ever slip your feet into, they boast an accelerometer to record running metrics and Bluetooth connectivity that saves it all to an app afterward. And they’re great for pre-event training, too, as they engage you in a pre-run jump test that measures how ready your body is to run.
Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro

Gear Fit 2 Pro features a nice clean and vibrant 1.5-inch displayLEE BELL
The Gear Fit 2 Pro is one of my favorite activity trackers. It doesn’t try to be a smartwatch; it’s a simple activity tracker but comes with a host of features, including an ultra-detailed super AMOLED display. It boasts a continuous heart rate monitor, along with a pedometer, an exercise tracker, and a stopwatch and timer. It also has a 5 atm water resistance rating, compared to the IP68 water resistance rating for the older Gear Fit 2, meaning it should be even more robust for proper sports use, especially swimming. A nice, slim wearable for those looking for a fitness-focused device without all the fancy extras that you might not ever use.
Myontec Mbody connected shorts
Available from Myontec
Mbody is designed for anyone serious about fitness: from cyclists to duathletes and triathletesMYONTEC
Okay so the price might be a bit excessive for some gym shorts, but Myontec isn’t just your run of the mill shorts. The special bit of skit claims to offer “the most comprehensive and advanced training system available” with its Mbody fitness-tracking hip-huggers. Mbody is designed especially for cyclists, duathletes, and triathletes by collecting combined muscle load with heart rate data, such as cadence, speed and distance, via its MCell Smart measuring tech. This technology measures the electrical activity of the muscles (EMG, electromyography) and is apparently the first of its kind to do so in real-time sports performance analysis, regardless of the environment or the type of sport.

Coros smart bicycle helmet
Available from Coros
The Linx helmet is the One For All remote of cycling helmetsCOROS
Everything that a cyclist could possibly ever want from a bicycle helmet has been built into the Coros smart helmet. No longer do you have to risk your life wearing earphones while riding the streets, this bicycle helmet has bone-conducting earphones built in so you can safely listen to music or GPS directions while on the road without not blocking out background sounds. Better yet, it tracks your mileage and if you have an accident, the built-in collision detection automatically sends a loved one a message to alert them to a possible accident. A smart helmet that looks pretty smart, too..
Zepp
Available from Zepp
Zepp creates wearables for your tennis racket or baseball batZEPP TECH
Zepp is a digital sports training device that is not worn by you but is instead worn by the sports instrument you are holding or kicking. Each sensor specifically tracks stats in the game their playing, so for example, for the recently launched football sensor, it will track total kicks, sprints, distance, top speed and more.
