A gravity battery is a type of mechanical battery that stores gravitational potential energy, by raising a mass, allowing that energy to be released (typically converted to electrical energy via a generator), by allowing the mass to fall.
Such devices have been considered as part of an sustainability/renewable energy drives, addressing the problem of electrical energy storage.
